TORRENS POSTER ASSIGNMENT
TOKYO
Unfold is a fictional art and design gallery planning pop up gallery exhibitions in major cities worldwide, they requested two posters, one for Tokyo and one for Paris that are uniquely designed to appeal and reflect the city they will appear in.
My poster for Tokyo draws inspiration from a combination of the sleek, minimalistic aesthetics of modern Japanese design
with the vibrant early 2000s Japanese
styles seen in major Tokyo districts. I was particularly influenced by Gyaru
and Harajuku feminine fashion.
PARIS
To represent Parisian art and design, I chose to focus on a bold art deco inspired aesthetic based on luxury, high fashion and the classy aspects of French artistic culture. Taking visual Cues from Vogue and Dior, I built a sensual poster with strong typographic features.
