This project was a revised version of an older ‘Colours of the Rainbow’ that included 3 illustrations per colour, one animal, one portrait and one background. Those pieces were much lower quality than this suite, as the goal for them was to take more time to truly perfect and work them to the best of my ability while challenging myself to work outside of my comfort zone of animal forms, colour palettes and applications.

I also did not want my subject matter to be so simple, so I looked to the ‘star-flesh’ aesthetic, popular on Pintrest of depict some unnatural, uncanny forms confined to their elected hue.
